World Migratory Bird Day / LHAS Birdathon!

  • Prairie Park 3500 South Lewis Boulevard Sioux City, IA, 51106 United States (map)

A variety of activities to celebrate World Migratory Bird Day (WMBD) and Loess Hills Audubon’s BIRDATHON! There are a variety of activities today. Come to Prairie Park from 9:00 AM until Noon for some birding with local experts. Field guides, binoculars, and a spotting scope will be available at the shelter for newcomers to take a step into birding and bird watching. The theme for WMBD is Shared Spaces.

More adventurous participants will roam the best birding areas of Siouxland to find as many species as possible. All bird lists will be compiled for a total number of species. If you are using eBird, please share your list(s) with Loess Hills Audubon so we can easily combine lists. Groups will be coordinated and newcomers are welcome to join with others more familiar with our local hotspots.

More details and sign up sheets will be available at the April and May general chapter meetings of Loess Hills Audubon.

For more information contact Bill Huser at 712-574-3107 or billfhuser@gmail.com.

Remember: all LHAS outings are open to the public and offer an inviting way to begin birding and meet others with similar interests.
