Join us on Saturday, March 22 for a birding field trip to Broken Kettle Grasslands, Camp Joy Hollow, and other locations in the far northern Loess Hills. We hope to encounter Golden Eagles, Pileated Woodpeckers, Golden-crowned Kinglets, Harris' Sparrow, migrant waterfowl, bison, and more!

We will meet at Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center at 7:30 AM and will carpool from there. We plan to return to the nature center no later than 1:15 PM to allow people to attend the Iowa State University Insect Zoo from 1:30-3:30 PM if they so desire.

The majority of the morning will be spent birding from the road and, weather permitting, we will picnic at Camp Joy Hollow's outdoor shelter around 11:30 AM, so please pack a lunch. After lunch, there will be the option to either take a short hike at Camp Joy Hollow or continue birding along the road before returning to Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center.

For more information call Tucker 712-560-6770 or email tuckerlutter@yahoo.com.

Remember: all LHAS outings are open to the public and offer an inviting way to begin birding and meet others with similar interests.
